Pre-AAERE 2022 Congress workshop
The Economy & Environment Partnership for Southeast Asia (EEPSEA) is calling for your application for the regional training grants on Trans-disciplinary Approaches toward the Net-zero Target.

This 2-day workshop will provide researchers in the Southeast Asia Region with the understanding of technical roadmaps and policy instruments, then the applications to develop their research agenda on the net-zero targets in their country or region.
In addition to the technical, economic and political opportunities and challenges to reach the target of net-zero, the large-scale collective action, individual preferences for net-zero policies, and potential research topics will also be discussed during the workshop.

VENUE: University of Economics Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam
- Participants will be able to comprehend the technical, economic and political opportunities and challenges to reach the target of net zero greenhouse gas emissions, especially on industry, energy and transportation.
- Participants will learn how to facilitate collective action (through policy and consideration of acceptance issues)
- Participants are expected to prepare a concept note for proposal development using economic tools together with transdisciplinary approaches to address the cross-country environmental issues in the Southeast Asia region.
HOW TO APPLY
- Qualification
--- Applicants should be nationals of the following Southeast Asian countries: Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.
--- Applicants must hold at least a master’s degree in economics.
--- Applicants should have basic knowledge in economic modeling and/or climate change.
- Application requirements: Application submissions should include the following:
--- Detailed CV;
--- Letter of application indicating:
--- Expression of your academic career goals and planning.
--- Where/how applicant intends to use what is learned from the course.
--- Sharing your research idea (less than one page) related to the course topic.

Grant coverage: Thanks to the generous support from Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), the course participation of accepted applicants will be fully sponsored. The EEPSEA Partnership will cover round-trip travel expenses to Vietnam, accommodation, and meal allowance.
