Osnabrück Global Classroom – Summer Semester 2021
Due to the challenges, the Corona Pandemic imposes on student mobility, Osnabrück University of
Applied Sciences has established the Osnabrück Global Classroom as an alternative option for
International students from partner universities.
If spending a semester abroad is not possible for you at the moment but if you are interested in studying
online in an international and intercultural setting, you are welcome to apply and sign up for one or
more of our online courses. It is not necessary to be present in Osnabrück and you can complement
your studies at your home university with the courses you choose here.

Teaching mode and schedule
All courses are taught in English by lecturers from the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences or from
international partner universities.
The lecturers use the video conference tool zoom with one or two live video conference sessions per
week. All courses have a workload of 5 ECTS and conclude with an exam.
The courses will take place during the summer semester of Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences:
March 22 – June 18, 2021 (lecture period), June 19 – July 25, 2021 (exam period)
Studying online as an international visiting student
As a student of our partner universities, you will be registered as an international visiting student at
Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences and receive a transcript of records upon completion of the
class. You will also receive access to our university platform OSCA for a smooth interaction with the
lecturers and fellow students.
If you wish to have the credits earned at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences recognized by your
home university, a learning agreement needs to be signed prior to the start of the course.
Online orientation days will take place for all our guest students – no matter if they are present in
Osnabrück or joining us online from abroad. You will have the possibility to join online sessions prior to
the beginning of the courses, in which your questions about studying at Hochschule Osnabrück will be
addressed and you will already get connected online with other international and German students of
the upcoming winter semester.
Application
Students may choose courses at both faculties. However, due to limited capacities: When admitting the
students into the courses, priority will be given to students from partner universities of the respective
faculty.
If you would like to apply, please contact first the international office of your home university. The
home university needs to nominate the students to the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences before
January 18. The application requirements are: enrollment at the home university during the period
March-July 2021, good academic records, previous knowledge in the relevant subject field and English
proficiency (CEFR B1, TOEFL 80 ibt, IELTS 5.5). The home university sends the nomination to the
International Faculty Office of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Landscape Architecture at the
Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences which will check the nominations and capacities. If the
nomination is accepted, you will receive a link to the online registration portal to submit the application
by January 31, 2021 at the latest. You will then be asked to upload a copy of your passport/identity card
and transcript of records.
