“Lord, on the day I called for help, you answered me, Psalm 138.” On February 25, 2021, the day of our interview for the DAAD-TUAF Scholarship under the Master of Environmental Science, Psalm 138 was the Bible verse I read when I opened my bible diary before I prepare myself for the said interview. After I have read the message from God, I claimed for myself that this great opportunity is really meant for me because God answered my prayers through this bible verse.
I found out about this scholarship when it was already 6:00 pm of the last day for the submission of the application through the group chat on Messenger created by Mr. Frederick Reyes, the Head of Partnership, Linkages, Academic Cooperation and Engagement Affairs of De La Salle Araneta University in the Philippines where I finished my bachelor’s degree in Agriculture. When I knew about this, I was so hesitant at first to apply because my time to prepare everything for my application was too short. I don’t know if I could still make and prepare all the required documents and submit them before the deadline time to the Advanced Education Program-Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry (AEP-TUAF) website. However, even though, I was so hesitant to apply for the said scholarship, I still filled in all the application forms and prepared the available documents I have just to comply with the required documents for the application. I was so overwhelmed and happy at the same time because I submitted my application at exactly 10:54 pm in the Philippines. I finished my application before the deadline time which was 11:59 pm in Vietnam time on February 21, 2021.
From the last day of submission of application to TUAF until the day of the interview with them and even until the submission of application to DAAD, the world’s largest funding organization for the international exchange of students and researchers, for the funding of the scholarship, I didn’t feel any hardship. I never felt hard in doing all the steps for the application and it seems that everything went really fine. Maybe that’s how we feel when something is destined for us that God has given us even if it comes suddenly in unexpected way and even if we think we are not yet ready for it. I can really say that the DAAD-TUAF Scholarship is the greatest opportunity I have now and I am very grateful to all especially to God.
Thank you to DAAD-TUAF for choosing me to be one of the fortunate scholarship holders for the Academic Year 2021 – 2022! May God always bless you and more power!
