On March 5 - 6, 2022, the workshop "Interdisciplinary conference and training on climate change research and education" was organized by a group of alumni of the Vietnam-Japan Human Resource Development Scholarship - JDS, organized in face-to-face matching online at the Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry with the participation of more than 100 Vietnamese and international students. 

The workshop was divided into three groups to introduce and discuss three main topics related to climate change research and its relationship with (i) Agricultural economics; (ii) Post-harvest technology; and (iii) The agricultural environment. In addition, an training trip was organized for students of different majors to visit and study at the smart agricultural model at Hao Dat Tea Village, Thai Nguyen province.

The conference created a platform to share the latest research and specialized information, through connecting 13 former students of JDS scholarship and other scholarships of the Government of Vietnam and Japan, each following studied at Kyushu University, with 15 alumni from other Japanese universities.
Initially, the alumni agreed on an internship cooperation between Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry and Vietnam National University of Agriculture, helping to form two ideas for in-depth research between the Institute of Plant Protection - Vietnam National University of Agriculture and Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry. 

In addition, the workshop created a forum to introduce JDS and MEXT scholarships to young students and researchers, sharing about the country and people of Japan, as well as experience and know-how to apply successfully recruited these prestigious scholarships.
