This Memorandum of Understanding entered into by and among: THAI NGUYEN UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE AND FORESTRY, VIETNAM, a state university duly organized and existing under and by virtue of the laws of Vietnam, with principal address at Quyet Thang commune, Thai Nguyen City, Thai Nguyen Province, S. R. of Vietnam represented herein by its Rector, A/PROF. DR. NGUYEN HUNG QUANG hereinafter referred to as (“TUAF”);

DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION-Division of Laguna, Bay District, educational office in the Province of Laguna providing quality basic education and existing under the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, having principal office at Bay, Laguna represented herein by its District Supervisor, DR. ALLAN HOSTALERO, (hereinafter referred to as “DepEd-Division of Laguna, BAY District”);

THE BRIDGEWATER SCHOOL, INC. a private educational institution providing quality basic education and existing under the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, having principal office at Siniloan, Laguna represented herein by its President, MR. NICANOR L. RAMOS (hereinafter referred to as “TBSI”)

WHEREAS, the parties believe that it is their best interest to encourage direct contact and cooperation between their faculty members, departments, institutes, other research centers in fields of education to be agreed upon and subject to the availability of funding and to the development of specific binding agreements;

WHEREAS, within the fields of study to be mutually designated, both parties desire to discuss and explore the general forms of cooperation set forth below;

WHEREAS, in order to carry out such discussions and explorations, the parties desire to set forth a framework in which such interactions may occur; and

NOW THEREFORE, the parties have entered into this MOU for the purpose of setting forth their understanding and agreement with respect to the potential establishment and operation of international cooperation programs.

 PURPOSE OF THE MOU

The parties agree to encourage the following activities:

1.    TUAF, DepEd-Division of Laguna, Bay District and TBSI shall cooperate to implement the academic programs for the students of either Institution.

2.    TUAF, DepEd-Division of Laguna, Bay District and TBSI shall cooperate to provide selected students of either Institution the opportunity to enroll in the overseas academic programs in the other Institution.

3.    TUAF, DepEd-Division of Laguna, Bay District and TBSI shall discuss and seek possibilities of developing faculty and student exchange programs.
4.    TUAF, DepEd-Division of Laguna, Bay District and TBSI may select and recommend qualified faculty/experts/scholars to deliver lectures to the students of the other Party.

5.    TUAF, DepEd-Division of Laguna, Bay District and TBSI shall cooperate and participate in providing consultancy, and training at the other institution.

6.    TUAF, DepEd-Division of Laguna, Bay District and TBSI shall cooperate to organize study tours, short courses, seminars/workshops for the students of their joint programs and interested individuals in Vietnam, Philippines, or any other country. Specific programs and/or topics will be mutually decided upon by the Parties.
