At the introduction of the DAAD scholarship on the morning of May 18, 2022 at Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry, students and those interested in the program had many interesting questions to DAAD Hanoi office.
Question: "Hello speaker and teachers and all of you who are attending the program. I am currently working at a wastewater treatment company. Then I would like to ask if I can register for the course that is contrary to my major?"
Answer: "Thank you for your question. DAAD Vietnam does not consider majors but only provides scholarships, so the first thing you need to do is to manually contact the course you want because each course has different requirements. However, I do know a friend who applied for a different major and successfully persuaded the course. She majored in German but enrolled in Public Policy and Good Governance. She had to spend 1 year preparing more certificates to serve the course well. You can refer to this."
Question: "Hello everyone. Can people from other countries outside of Southeast Asia, for example, I come from Africa, can I apply for a master's DAAD scholarship?"
Answer: "Thanks for your question. The master's scholarship program has only 2 courses that people from outside Southeast Asia can apply for. I can't remember the specific names of those 2 courses so you can search at the website: https://www2.daad.de/deutschland/stipendium/datenbank/en/21148-scholarship-database/ Besides, the scholarship also requires 2 years of work experience major. So I think other scholarship organizations will have more opportunities for you."
Question: "How much is the DAAD scholarship support amount?"
Answer: "Postgraduate students will receive a monthly allowance of 850 euros. Doctoral students will receive 1200 euros. Postgraduate and doctoral students will receive insurance and travel allowance, excluding when these costs are covered by the student's home country or by another source of funding. In addition, the DAAD also subsidizes research costs of 230,000 euros per semester."
